Inverter setting

Communication with the inverter can take place via Ethernet or RS485.

Set up the inverter as described in the product manual (available in the Appendix).

If you choose to work via RS485, note the following:

The protocols supported by the SmartgridOne via RS485 are "Modbus Sunspec" and "Aurora." In the SmartgridOne, these are known as "Modbus RTU Sunspec protocol" and "ABB Aurora Power One protocol" respectively.

Modbus Sunspec" is only supported on inverter connection RS485-2.

By default, the SmartgridOne first scans for devices with a baud rate of 9600 and parity None. It is recommended that inverters be set to this baud rate and parity.

A unique address must be set on each device on the RS485 bus.

If you choose to work via Ethernet, note the following:

The inverter acts as slave/server, the SmartgridOne as master/client.

Over Ethernet, only the "Modbus Sunspec" protocol is supported. You must configure the SmartgridOne to use this protocol.

The inverter and inverter must be connected to the same LAN network.
