Reduce data consumption

You can reduce data consumption by playing with the following settings. These can be set under the "Settings" → "Advanced Settings" menu.

With these settings you can greatly influence the behavior of the controller. Be careful!

Downsampling period for clouds (seconds)		This option can be used to downsample the data measurements from the devices uploaded to the cloud. For example, if there are measurements every 5 seconds and the downsampling period is set to 50 seconds, only every tenth measurement will be uploaded to the cloud. Leave at 0 seconds to disable downsampling.	0
Cloud upload period (seconds))	How many seconds should there be at least between two consecutive uploads of device data. Leave at zero for immediate upload if new data has been read.	0
Synchronization period metadata (seconds))	How often metadata such as settings, etc. should be synchronized between the controller and the cloud.	600
Run time planner (seconds)	How many seconds there should be at least between two consecutive executions of the controller's control loop. Fewer executions means less data usage, but at the cost of a slower and less accurate control loop.	0
Scheduler planning upload period (seconds)	How often the planner's calculated schedule is uploaded to the cloud. If you don't want to upload the schedule to save data, set this to a very high value. Note that this means that your users will then not see any forecasts!	900
Scheduler disabled at night	If set to true, the scheduler is turned off at night. This is useful to limit data usage when nighttime monitoring is not important, for example in the case of a PV plant.	False
Disable Planner	If this is set to true, the scheduler is turned off completely. This is useful for limiting data usage if you only use the device for monitoring.	False
Disable server-to-controller push notifications	If this option is set to true, push notifications from the server to the controller are disabled. You can use this option to reduce data usage, but the controller will then not immediately respond to commands sent from the dashboard or app.	False
Turn off weather forecast	If set to true, weather forecasting is disabled. You can use this option to reduce data consumption, but power production forecasts will be inaccurate.	False
